Crap Brapps – Name & Shame Rubbish Apps
For all the help we try to give, some companies still get it very wrong when it comes to developing their own branded apps. So, in order to name and shame these terrible apps a new blog called Crap Brapps (Short for Branded-Apps) has been created.
Some brands that appear on the blog include Bacardi, Puma, Polycell, KFC, Greggs (twice!) and Nandos.
The main reasons for apps being labelled ‘crap’, is not offering the consumer anything useful. If someone can get the same information from a simple search on their browser, then why go to the trouble of creating an app for it? Store finders are a good example of this. Many brands are guilty of creating an app simply for the sake of it, because they feel the need to be a part of the app space, but if the app is pointless it will do more harm than good for the brand.
So, make sure your brand doesn’t appear on the Crap Brapps blog by making sure your app is useful and/or fun for users, and don’t just create an app for apps sake!
