To kick off the new year, Econsultancy has asked a number of industry professionals what their thoughts are for 2013. The first of a series of posts looks at the future of mobile and what strategies companies need to consider in the coming 12 months.

Some of the big names questioned are: Sean O’Neal – Global CMO at The Daily Mail Online, Marifran Manzo-Ritchie – Director of Corporate Communications for Monetate and Shiraz Datta – Lead Marketing CRM and Business Intelligence at Nokia.

Responsive design is certainly a good thing, but marketers need to realize that context trumps adjusting content to different screen sizes. Adapting to the consumer’s state of mind in different situations should be our goal. Let’s start practicing contextual design.
